This post is not very interesting

June 5, 2011

You might think this is a bit out of place in a diet and exercise type journal but I’m coming to think that one of the keys to sorting out my weight stuff and eating stuff is to work on how to be happy.  This will be just a short post but I’d love comments to it.  Any wisdom anyone has around living a happy life would be gratefully appreciated.

One saying always comes back to me, from someone who unfortunately could not make it work but that doesn’t mean it’s a no go-er, is: “Live according to your truth (but do not deny others their truth)”

I’ll post proper content in the week.  Leaving you now because I have a pressing appointment with Dance Central

Love to people xxx

ETA: Nobody replied.  ‘How to be happy’ must be like ‘The Meaning of Life’, people get anxious and can’t think of what to say or they get embarrassed or the idea is too vague.  Remember that scene in Monty Python’s ‘The Meaning of Life’ where the guys are in the boardroom and someone has just raised 2 points, the first being that people are not wearing enough hats and the second… I’ll copy it in full for full effect.

Exec 1:  Item six on the agenda: “The Meaning of Life” Now uh, Harry, you’ve had some thoughts on this.

Exec 2: Yeah, I’ve had a team working on this over the past few weeks, and what we’ve come up with can be reduced to two fundamental concepts. One: People aren’t wearing enough hats. Two: Matter is energy. In the universe there are many energy fields which we cannot normally perceive. Some energies have a spiritual source which act upon a person’s soul. However, this “soul” does not exist ab initio as orthodox Christianity teaches; it has to be brought into existence by a process of guided self-observation. However, this is rarely achieved owing to man’s unique ability to be distracted from spiritual matters by everyday trivia.

Exec 3: What was that about hats again?
